About Fallow
Fallow sits on five wooded acres in the hills of Brown County. Just 40 minutes from Bloomington and an hour from the Indianapolis Airport, Fallow is remote while remaining accessible. The House, property and the surrounding landscape are as much a part of the experience as the studio itself. Surrounded by Yellowwood State Forest and just minutes from the Hoosier National Forest and Lake Lemon, there are plenty of opportunities to get outside, stretch your legs, and take a breath. Additionally, the Infrared sauna and the outdoor shower overlooking the pond can help you unwind and refocus. The entire experience is designed to help you decompress and make your best work in a relaxed and centered state.
Lodging
The house and studio together can sleep up to seven people individually if we get a little creative with the space. We have four dedicated beds: a queen and a set of bunks in the main house, a queen in the studio loft, plus an inflatable mattress, a couch, and a pull-out. It’s a communal, cozy setup, but if your group is larger or you just prefer a bit more personal space between sessions, there are several charming and cosy vacation homes nearby that I’m happy to recommend.
Meals
All meals are home-cooked and included in the stay, usually culminating in a family-style dinner where we can step out of the studio mindset for a moment to reorient. I’ve spent the last few years building a pantry of homemade preserves and staples, and I try to focus as much as possible on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. Each menu is catered specifically to your group, taking any allergies or dietary restrictions into account.
Beyond the scheduled meals, there will be fresh, homemade bread throughout your stay, along with whatever other baking creations I find the audacity to make.
This is meant to be as flexible and comfortable as possible; we can adjust the timing and the menu to fit your session’s schedule, not the other way around.
